Even if you are local or from NJ/tri-state area, I highly recommend visiting this lighthouse. 3rd tallest in the US (I learned that there). The attendant downstairs could not have been nicer and more personable. Pace yourself and the climb up is not too bad, the climb down was more challenging as I was getting dizzy. The view from the top-breathtaking!

Decided to find other activities besides gambling in ac. Saw the lighthouse had tours. When we came, we were the only people there. Maybe even the whole day... it was cool to see inside it Lighthouse and to go all the way up, but all the info you have to get on your own. I was told it was a self guided tour, but it was just climbing stairs. I wish there was an audio tour that told you about everything. For $10, I guess it was worth the moment. But we explored and went to the top and finished everything in under 30 minutes. The guy at the top did share some facts with us which was nice.

five stars !!!! went here for a little day date and had a great time. the staff was welcoming and friendly and we essentially got a private tour from a staff member (i believe his name was chris). he walked up with us the whole way and shared history and facts at each landing. beautiful views of atlantic city, the ocean, and even brigantine. well worth the stop, check it out :)

Absolutely amazing visit. The kindest friendliest most knowledgeable staff. Dan at the top is awesome. He knows so much about lighthouses and how they work and very patient with teaching the kids. Great views and a great time and i can't wait to stop back

A Hidden Gem with Stunning Views! Visiting the Absecon Lighthouse was one of the highlights of my trip to Atlantic City. As the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the third tallest in the country, it offers not just a fun climb (228 steps!) but also a rewarding panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the city skyline at the top. The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting historical facts that made the experience even more enriching. The lighthouse has been beautifully preserved, and the attached museum and gift shop are full of fascinating exhibits and unique souvenirs. Whether you’re a history buff, a fan of architecture, or just looking for a scenic adventure, the Absecon Lighthouse is well worth the visit. It’s peaceful, inspiring, and offers a unique perspective of Atlantic City that you won’t get from the casinos. Highly recommended!
